  1. i could smell the tea tree oil and turmeric, didn’t like the smell but loved the results.

  2. Hi, I don’t have tea tree oil, can I skip that? Also, if it’s for dark circles, does it mean I have to apply it under the eyes too?

    1. Hi Mary, the tea tree oil is primarily for the acne. You can skip this oil if you don’t have it, however I highly recommend it for the acne!

  3. Hi there Jen!

First of all I love your site! Discovered this this morning and haven’t stopped reading it for the last 4 hours! Have ordered almond, teatree, rosehip and neem oil etc online and cannot wait to start following your advice!

Can you please recommend a good moisturizer with an spf that is for oily skin? I have oily acne prone skin and struggle to find one for summer that doesn’t cause breakouts.

    Thank you

    1. Hi Sophie!
Thank you so much for spending so much time on my website! That means sooo much to me! Thank you! A great moisturizer with spf is the elf BB Cream! It’s only $6 USD and is has spf 20 and lots of vitamins and moisture for your skin. I love it!

If you’re just looking for a safe moisturizer, try rose hip oil. Thank you so much again for reading! Please keep in touch and let me know how the oils work for you.

      1. Thank you very much for your response and for being so kind to share all your beauty secrets with others. I haven’t received all of the ingredients yet so have just been doing the baking soda exfoliation and using olive oil to remove make up. I never had acne as a teenager but now at 24 I have encountered small bumps on my cheeks and forehead and large pimples on my back. Can you please recommend a way for me to remove these? I drink 2litres of water each day and eat, exercise and sleep well and take womans vitamins. I don’t know what more I can do? Any advice would be much appreciated thank you! 🙂

        1. Hi Again Sophie!
Thank you for coming back. You sound like you have a healthy lifestyle. Sometimes, as women, we have so many complicated functions going on in our bodies and our hormones can fluctuate during our cycle. Even when my own skin is perfectly clear from acne, I will get a surprise pimple on my cheek or chin. I have to make sure I wash my pillowcases every week because I noticed my skin’s oil sticks to the pillow and attracts germs- this can mess with your skin too. Also, when I stopped drinking milk, my acne lessened greatly. Also when I eat a lot of sweets like chocolate chip cookies – I’ll break out! The sugar lessens your immune system. This turmeric facial helped my skin so much! I hope it helps you too!

  4. Thank you for your advice Jen! I am trying to lower my sugar intake and have been washing pillows more regularily. All my igredients have not arrived yet so so far I have just been exfoliating with baking soda, using olive oil and tea tree and using the tumeric mask. Already I have seen a huge improvement just with those few but today my rosehip oil, almond, neem etc arrived so I can now start doing all the routines. I have set out my daily and weekly routine below; can you please advise if I am doing this correctly and if it is in the right order? I can’t wait to start doing it all and let you know how my progress goes.
    Skin routine steps:
First wash fact with warm water by splashing warm water over face.

Then exfoliate face with 50/50 warm water and baking soda. Massage for 1 minute, leave to dry for 1 minute. Rinse with warm water.

Cleanse face (avoiding eye area) by applying cleanser and massaging with finger tips then wiping off with cotton pad in upward motions until cotton pad is clean. (Cleanser includes 2 parts olive oil, 1 part almond oil, 1tbs neem oil, 5 drops tea tree oil).

Tone by applying rose water to face with a cotton pad.

    Moisturise face with rosehip oil.

Remove eye makeup with almond oil then mix 1 tsp rosehip oil, 1 tsp olive oil and 1 tsp vegetable glycerin and masage under eye area for 1 minute. Take a warm damp cloth and press it on under eye area. Allo oils to absorb then add more of the mixture with 1tsp of raw honey and let sink into skin. Apply warm cloth again then add more oil mixture and cover the area with Vaseline.

    Addtionally once a week:

After exfoliating apply olive oil to face and wipe upwards with cotton pad, then steam face for 5 minutes, then apply olive oil to face and steam face again for 5 minutes and rinse with warm water. Then remove excess oil with a cotton pad.

    Mud mask

    Retinol anti wrinkle mask

    Additionally twice a week:

    Tumeric facial

    1. Oh my goodness! This is wonderful news and an amazing skin care schedule. You do not have to have the vegetable glycerine for removing your makeup.
Your skin is probably looking amazing! Yes, avoiding sugar is one of the biggest beauty secrets. It’s difficult to do, but you get results and heal your skin.
Please keep in touch and let me know how it’s going. sounds really great so far! I’m proud of you Sophie. The turmeric facial is my fav! 😉

      1. My skin has improved immensely in the past two weeks and it is all thanks to you and your amazing tips!! On my face all my pimples have diminished and all I have left is a few bumps left under the surface but that should all clear now I have the rest of the ingredients to follow my new routine. I’m glad that it looks good and I’m so thankful than not only have you provided me with these steps where I have already started seeing improvements, but you have also saved me so much money! I use to spend 100’s of dollars on products that gave me minimal results and your solutions to my skin issues are not only cheaper but natural as well so I know that I am doing something good for my skin! 🙂

The only area where I have recently had a breakout lately is the top of my back and shoulders. I have never had pimples here before but over the last few months they have become a real issue and really red and sore. I have started putting tea tree on them over the last 4 days but they haven’t changed. What would you recommend I do and do you have any idea what could have caused this all of a sudden?

Thank you again for your kindness and all your help, it means so much! 🙂 xo

  6. Hi there jen

I am still battling the pimples on my upper back at shoulder level. I have probably had them for about 2months now and have no idea what has caused this. All the rest of my pimples have cleared up but not sure whats triggering the ones on my back.i have been applying teatree and rosehip oil for 3wks now and they have reduced in size but are still there. If there is anything you can recommend, please help as they are making me really selfconscious. Thanks

  7. Hi Jen,

I tried this mask twice and it’s really good. I wonder if I can store it in the fridge for a few days? There is enough mask left to use it at least one more time.

    1. Hi Laukos, Yes, I like to store this “How to get clear, acne free, dark circle free skin mask” in the refrigerator up to three days.
      Thanks for visiting!

  8. Im glad I found you. Im just wondering if this particular facial, that seems more aimed at the dark circles, which I want to learn about, will help with blackheads and cleaning pores? You say the Tea Tree Oil is good for the facial part of this, will that or anything in this help with BHs and cleaning pores?

    1. Hi Rob, the almond oil is mainly for dark circles, the oil also helps with the black heads and pores along with the lemon juice combined with the rest of ingredients. If you only wanted to treat dark under eyes, just use the almond oil under your eyes and apply it before bed.

  11. I am worried about dark circles!! Should I just apply some almond oil and that’s it? When will I see results?

  12. Just wanting to know, if the turmeric facial would be good for OLD ACNE SCARS, on my face? I’m 42 and my scars on my cheeks are old…. Ughhh I need them gone. I don’t have acne anymore just the scars. Thanks. Great site.

    1. Hi Nicole,
Honestly, the turmeric is for treating active acne. For acne scars, I recommend you deeply massage your skin every evening with olive oil. Second, I suggest you purchase the PMD microdermabrasion at hoe system. It will help retexture your skin over time and fade away the acne scars. Some even after one treatment. If that’s too expensive, try baking soda and water, make a thin paste and massage your face with that after the olive oil. That will take longer but will eventually work. Good luck!
      Thanks for visiting, XO

  13. My arms have gone really tanned and the tan doesn’t seem to be going. Will tumeric help to brighten them again??
