Oatmeal Face Mask for Irritated Skin DIY Recipe today. This is a simple homemade face mask using only 3 ingredients. Oatmeal is the main ingredient because it soothes, nourishes skin and moisturizes the most irritated dry skin. If you’re suffering from dry, itchy, inflamed, irritated skin, this oatmeal face mask is perfect for your skin! Please read my Oatmeal Face Mask for Irritated Skin Recipe. This Oatmeal face mask is easy to make and effective!
Oatmeal Face Mask Recipe Ingredients:
6 Tbsp. of Any kind of uncooked Oatmeal
1/4 C. of Any kind of Hot brewed Green Tea
1/4 Tsp. of Grape Seed Oil
Directions:
1. Grab a clean cup or bowel to mix your facial into.
2. Fill your tea kettle with 1/4 Cup of water and bring to a boil
3. Steep your tea bag of green tea for 3 minutes and remove the tea bag
4. Place 6 Tbsp. of uncooked oatmeal into the cup of tea
5. Mix this up and let the green tea cook the oatmeal
6. Add 1/4 Tsp. of Grape Seed Oil
TIP: I highly recommend you put your hair up in a towel or neatly pulled back. Oatmeal is hard to get out of hair and not fun to do! 😉
This Oatmeal Face Mask is ready to apply onto your skin when the oatmeal looks soft and cooked. Before applying, make sure the oatmeal isn’t too hot. When it’s just warm, apply it to your face and allow it to sooth your irritated skin for ten minutes and rinse off with room temperature water and pat dry. Your skin should now feel more comfortable and soothed!
This facial would be perfect for anyone that went to the beach all day and got a sunburn!
Enjoy!
XO Jen
I’m wearing it now. I have some perimenopausal breakouts happening, and really hope this helps.
The recipe made more than I could use. Hopefully, it will keep in the fridge until tomorrow. Also, I found I had to add more water.
I had trouble getting it to stick to my face. Maybe I didn’t let it cook long enough?
Hi Diane,
Yes, you have to let it cook longer and soften. Depending which brand you use, you may have to add more water and experiment. You can store this in the refrigerator up to 4 days. You may need to add more water to liven it back up 😉

Hello Ladies?
I had the same issue with the mixture not adhering to my skin, and the more I tried to apply, the more it stick to my hands. Through a little trial and error, I found that if I grind the oatmeal first into smaller grains with a mortar and pestle, then it is more malleable to apply after I mix the ingredients all together. Hope it works for you☺️
Great tip Eml,
Yes, I noticed the longer you let the oatmeal soak up the tea, the more softer and “mushy” it gets and it’s easier to get it to stick to your skin. Yes, grinding it is also a great idea! Thank you for adding your info!

Alternative for Grape seed oil?
Hi my names Fernando I never suffered with irritated skin but recently I’ve had itchy dry skin on the right side of the it burns from the inside really bad it’s been going on for over a year I’m use it but not use to the irritation and inflammation! I’ve tried different lotions and itchy creams I also noticed that sometimes one eye is bigger then the other reason being I suffered a broken nose.awhile back and I feel my nose being crooked mucus or something causes my skin to be inflamated I sometimes wake up and only the side that icthes and inflammation Is oily please I’m asking someone help me
Hi Fernando,
Oatmeal is a very soothing face mask. I hope this works for you. If your nose was broken and not properly set back into place, you could be suffering from inflammation and a deviated septum. You may need surgery to correct it. It can also cause loud snoring at night. Good luck!
Can any oil do cause I don’t have grape seed oil like treetea oil.thanks
Hi Evelyn,
You can use olive oil or coconut oil, just make sure it’s cold pressed and organic.
Thanks, I have been using a chemical based face mask. With the procedure and tips you have posted, I can now be at ease with the organic facial mask.
