The skin care benefits for olive oil are amazing for softening your skin. Olive oil will absorb deep into the layers of your skin! Olive oil is one of the few natural oils that can get deep down and moisturize your skin naturally. To get an intense moisture, apply the olive oil at the end of your warm shower. Rub it all over your skin. The warm water will help it seep into your skin. The result is soft and moisturized skin. It’s best to apply when your skin is warm and fresh out of the shower because the olive oil will absorb faster. If you apply it to your skin when your skin is cold or room temperature, it’s going to take a long time to absorb! If your skin is very rough, I suggest you try exfoliating with adding a teaspoon of baking soda to your olive oil. The baking soda will help loosen and exfoliate any excess dry dead skin so you can moisturize as deep as possible. Also read: Baking Soda for Skin Care.

The skin care benefits for olive oil are great for acne sufferers and especially if you have blackheads. This may be difficult to do but it works to remove plugs of oil and blackheads from your skin. After you have tried the above method to clear up excess face oil using olive oil, you need to steam your face for five minutes until your face is sweating. Next, apply olive oil to your face. Use about 1 half teaspoon of olive oil and apply it to your face in upward strokes. You will begin to feel the blackheads reaching the surface of your skin. Steam your face for another ten minutes and rinse with warm water. You will need a cotton pad, next remove the excess oil in upward strokes with the cotton pad. You should see some little black heads and purged pores come out onto the pad. If your skin has severe blackheads, now is the perfect moment to use a pore extractor in upward strokes. The skincare benefits for olive oil are soothing for the most driest irritated skin. My mother died from cancer and prior to her death, she underwent harsh chemo treatments. Her skin grew extremely dry and itchy while on the chemo. The chemo caused so much harm to her skin by drying it out, it was unbearable for her. I urged her to try olive oil, and I would massage her legs, feet and arms with olive oil. I literally slathered her skin to help her gain relief. I urged her to try it in the shower and she enjoyed the benefits to her skin. Even towards the grim end of hospice care, her nurse used it on her after her sponge baths. The olive oil greatly brought relief to her skin. I recommend it to anyone undergoing chemo treatments. It greatly relieves the dryness and inflammation. My heart breaks for anyone going through cancer and chemo, it’s rough to say the least!

My favorites are lavender oil, grapefruit oil, and eucalyptus oil. Have fun and experiment. For best results, if you’re doing a spot treatment I recommend applying warm water to the area first with a damp warm wash cloth to heat up the skin area prior.
The skin care benefits for olive oil are good for split heels and calluses. Your feet are prone to dryness! It’s no surprise cracked feet and calluses are a common skin care problem. This can take two weeks to start seeing a transformation, but it works and it’s cheap! Take a shower before bed and when you feet are nice and dampened, apply some olive oil to your feet. Next, apply some old socks you don’t mind getting oily. I like to do this in the winter time when it’s not to hot to wear socks to bed. In the morning, take off your socks. The oil should have absorbed. Feel free to apply some olive oil onto your cracked heels before you start your day. Continue with this nightly to see results in two weeks!

Let the oil sit on your scalp for at least one hour. Wrap your head in a towel to get a warming effect. The oil will absorb deeper if it’s warm. Wash it out with warm water.
If olive oil is safe for babies, you know it’s gentle! Olive oil is gentle enough to treat diaper rash. Rub some on your baby for fast all natural relief. Speaking of babies, you can also use olive oil to help treat cradle cap. I would much rather use olive oil rather than an expensive chemical cream.

The oil will also help restore the natural oils you lost from the sun. The best combination treatment would be a thin layer of aloe vera gel on your sun burn and once absorbed, rub a thin layer of olive oil on top.
Deeply moisturize your extremely dry skin using this face mask recipe using olive oil of course. First Mash up half of a very ripe avocado. The riper the better! Next add 2 tsp of extra virgin olive oil. Pat this onto your face and leave it on for at least half an hour. It’s best to do this facial after you shower so you skin will be warm and able to absorb the oils better.
Sensitive skin needs simple and soothing ingredients. Add 1 tbsp. of fully cooked oatmeal and 2 tsp. of extra virgin olive oil. Pat this onto your skin for fifteen minutes. This should calm down any redness on your skin as well as calm down any irritation right away!
If you have one pesky wrinkle on your face that keeps occurring, olive oil is the answer. I tend to get a forehead wrinkle with I go target shooting – from eye strain. I like to massage out the wrinkle by taking a small dab of olive oil onto my clean skin. I massage the forehead wrinkle for a few minutes in a circular motion. This gets the blood flow to the area and it helps plump back up the wrinkle and helps with tight facial muscles. After I’m done massaging, I rub another dab into the wrinkle to lock in the moisture.
If you just irritated your skin by a dull razor or your skin is sensitive to shaving, olive oil will help treat the razor burn and heal your skin fast. As mentioned prior, it’s also a great shaving cream to prevent razor burn to begin with.

Speaking of hair, you can take a pea sized amount of olive oil and rub it directly onto the pasky hair that keeps “flying-away” Even better, grab a boar bristle brush and lock down the hair with the oil for extra straight and shiny hair fast!
Olive oil will nourish and condition your eyelashes with the vitamins they need to stay soft, long, and healthy. Olive oil can also help if your eyelashes are falling out from dry skin. It’s also important to condition your eyelashes with olive oil if you have ever fallen asleep with mascara on! I love to remove my eye makeup with olive oil. And when my eyelashes are clean, I rub a little onto my eyelid and lashes to keep them hydrated.
If your skin is peeling, olive oil is a must! I once got finished applying my makeup and noticed I had some dry patches on my forehead. I recommend any brand of olive oil as long as it’s extra virgin olive oil because that means it’s 100% olive oil and does not contain any fillers or cheaper oils. There’s also many olive oil products out there on the market but the best it to use olive oil in it’s natural form for best results. i wouldn’t purchase any beauty products that claim to have olive oil in them because the other ingredients in the product could have lots of chemicals.
Daily! Night and day! I highly recommend that you use olive oil on your skin for as many skin care remedies and treatments as possible! Sure, there’s other oils out there but olive oil is high quality and inexpensive. I use olive oil for my face and body. Olive oil is a medium weight oil. For example: Rosehip seed oil is the most light weight oil making it perfect for your face if you have sensitive skin and this oil is slightly expensive so I save it for my face. Castor oil is the heaviest oil and needs to be diluted with either olive oil or almond oil. I hope that makes sense! Please feel free to ask me any questions! Like I mentioned above, I love using olive oil every night to remove all my makeup. I also love to shower with it and moisturize my feet overnight worn under cotton socks.
I wondered this for years what the difference was between regular olive oil and extra virgin olive oil. Brace yourselves because holy moly there’s reasons why you’ll never want to buy regular olive oil ever again. (BTW- do you call it EVOO? After watching the Rachael ray cooking showyou kinda have to. lol.)
Extra Virgin Olive Oil is the highest quality of olive oil. (you can see by looking at the price tag too) This deluxe classification ensures perfection in flavor, purity, and freshness. I say purity also because there’s been lots of news stories talking about fraudulent Italian olive oils using oils from unknown sources. Yikes!
When Olive Oil is pure and extra virgin, it has a free acicidy – oleic acid. This is only possible when it’s processed by heat regulated machinery to keep the nutrients dense and intact.
To be officially called “Extra Virgin Olive Oil” the olive oil must be found pure and in absolute perfection of quality and maintain the delicate fruitiness element. Official olive oil taste testers will describe the perfect olive oil to have the three qualities – Fruity, Pungent, and Bitter.
So there you have it, you get more nutrients, better taste, and actual real olive oil without it being “watered down” with a cheaper oil.
Oh my goodness, just when you thought there was just regular olive oil and extra virgin – there’s more, LOTS MORE! What?!
According to the Olive Oil Standards of the International Olive Council aka the big IOC, there’s more and here they are:
I suggest you try using olive oil after a warm bath or shower. This way, your skin is more supple and able to absorb the oil faster. This also ensures you won’t be walking around the house with oily looking skin that’s just sitting on the surface of your skin. I have just slathered myself in olive oil without showering before and it didn’t absorb into my skin very well, it took 1 hour and I had to wipe away a lot of excess oil.
Which number is your favorite or which will you try?
