It seems like people with oily skin are more prone to whiteheads but they can happen to anyone.
What whiteheads look like: A raised round white or yellow bump on the skin. It looks like a pore is about to burst, it may feel tender and uncomfrtable because your pore is clogged building pressure because it’s filled with oil, dead skin cells, bacteria, blackheads, pimples, and pus. (gross right?)
Whiteheads on face, nose whiteheads, chin whiteheads, chest whiteheads, on your back, chest, shoulders. Whiteheads tend to be in these oily areas of our body.

Is it better to pop your whitehead or leave it alone?
It’s recommended to leave your whitehead alone to prevent scarring. However, sometimes even if you don’t pop your whitehead, you can sill have marks left behind. Because I know everyone wants instant whiteheads removal remedies, I recommend popping the whitehead. I’d rather pop and remove the clog in the pore rather than covering the whiteheads with makeup.
Can I pop my whiteheads?
Yes, you can pop your whiteheads if you do it safely.
What Causes me to get Whiteheads?
Whiteheads and acne are common in teenagers going through puberty when oil production begins. This is also known as Acne Vulgaris.
The sebaceous glands start to increase oil production, and teenagers usually have problems adapting and learning how to take care of their skin. Hygiene problems are also to blame. Acne and whiteheads can also happen to pre-menstral women. If you’re a woman that constantly has acne, it may be a symptom of a polycystic ovarian syndrom.
This is the fastest way how to remove whiteheads at home. First steam your freshly washed clean face for about five minutes. This will prep your skin for removing the whitehead. You need to make sure your skin and hands are clean and you need to make sure you purge the entire pore. It’s best to use a sanitized stainless steel tool called a pore extractor to make a pinhole in the whitehead to relieve the pressure and reduce the side of the pop mark to extract and clean the pore.

There’s many different pore extractors. I have a couple different ones for prevention and treatment. If you just pop the pimple with your fingers, it will cause a bigger hole in your skin. Think of it as causing an explosion to your pore.
The best pore extractor tools I recommend: Equinox pore extractor
1. Dip the pore extractor tip in rubbing alcohol to sanitize.
2. Take the pointed tip, and poke a hole on the center tip of the whitehead.
3. Select a rounded tip that targets the size of your whitehead. For example, use the smaller tip for small whiteheads and a larder tip for big whiteheads.
4. Place the rounded tip firmly and gently around the whitehead and push down. Keep a clean tissue handy to catch and wipe away the white/yellow ooze the purged whitehead will expel.
5. Inspect what cam out of the whitehead. Make sure a waxy plug was removed, this is the root of the problem. It looks like a skinny waxy grain of rice. Sometimes after the plug is removed, a drop of blood will follow. This is ok and normal.
6.If you didn’t remove the plug, try applying more pressure. You can sometimes use your finger tips and push from a wider grip instead of close to force the skin around to push out the plug. I know this sounds gross, but it’s best to thoroughly remove the plug. If you don’t remove the plug, your pore may still be clogged and another whitehead could form in the pore once the skin heals.
7. Take a cotton pad or tissue and sanitize the broken skin. You may need to apply pressure to stop any bleeding.
Your whitehead is now properly removed as fast as possible at home.
If you don’t want to pop your whiteheads or if you want to shrink your whiteheads instead, use this method.
Use an all natural clay based face mask. You can use this every night before you go to bed. I recommend first steaming your face to open all your pores. Next, apply the clay mask. You can find many natural clay based face masks in many stores (Make sure one of the first ingredients is bentonite). or buy clay mixtures and make your own at home. You can make a clay mask at home using new kitty litter.(via instructables.com) Kitty litter is actually 100% Bentonite clay.
The most effective over the counter mask I like to use to shrink whiteheads is the Queen Helene Mud Pack Mask.
Shrinking your whitehead with toothpaste:
You can dab the whitehead with any toothpaste overnight to see it shrink by morning.
How to prevent whiteheads:
I like to use this natural skin exfoliating method to make sure my pores don’t clog or to unclog my pores naturally. I just use a little water and baking soda to form a paste. At night I like to apply this anti-whitead treatment to my face after I remove my makeup. I also like to use this after a long workout to make sure any sweat and oil isn’t trapped in my pores. If you have sensitive skin, or if it’s your first time using baking soda on your skin, instead of water, use olive oil, it helps keep the PH balance of your skin normal and will be extra gentle on your skin. Also rub gently.
Make sure you’re drinking enough water
I know I probably sound like everyone’s mother when I say you need to drink more water, but it’s true and tested. Water helps detoxify your pores internally, so you won’t have any toxins aggravating your skin.
The best at home anti-whitehead face mask
This face mask worked miracles on my skin. This is another way how to heal your whiteheads and prevent acne. I’m showing your another method you can try because sometimes natural acne and whitehead treatments don’t work on everyone’s skin type. This one has helped lots of my blog subscribers. It’s a turmeric face mask for acne.

Sometimes your skin can have sore spots where you feel a whitehead starting to form. If you feel like a whitehead is trying to surface and you want to speed up the process and pop it within an hour, here’s what you do.
Make yourself a cup of hot tea or coffee. It’s best to attempt this while you’re relaxing watching tv or reading. Place a spoon into the hot cup of tea/coffee, allow it to sit for at least a minute. Take the curved end of the spoon and press it on the sore area. (make sure it’s not too hot or it will burn you!) The heat that the spoon conducts will be perfect to warm the area and help kill the bacteria deep down. Your skin will react and want to get rid of the whitehead by raising the plug to the surface. This will also naturally shrink your whitehead. When the spoon cools down, you can clean it and dip it back into the hot cup and try again. I like to repeat this at least three times. The whitehead will slowly emerge or become cured. Yes, the heat can actually kill the root of the acne. If you do raise the whitehead to the surface, go ahead and remove it using the methods listed above.
