1 Year Anniversary! + Giveaway

I’m celebrating my website’s 1 Year Anniversary! (including giveaway) It’s been one incredible journey. Please read my incredible story how this blog slowly grew like a “Rose that grew from Concrete.” I’m planning to launch a giveaway very soon to show my thanks and appreciation to you my viewers! Thank YOU!1 Year ago I needed a creative outlet to relax my mind fulfill my wish to add something positive to the internet. Viola! was created.

For years several years I have been helping people and companies develop websites and graphics, now it’s my turn. I finally allowed myself the time and creative freedom to write what I want to write about and genuinely help other people by writing useful articles and most importantly writing back to the people who have questions!

This website has helped me in so many ways. I’m very thankful to have met the people I have met and most of all found a creative outlet to spend my quiet time with. I feel that this blog helped carry me along the way of my difficult journey.

“Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete? Proving nature’s laws wrong, it learned to walk without having feet. Funny, it seems to by keeping it’s dreams; it learned to breathe fresh air. Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one else even cared.”
― Tupac Shakur, The Rose That Grew from Concrete

First of all, I miss my mother so badly it hurts everyday. For over 1 year I was the primary caretaker of my dear mother Nancy. She was the kindest person I’ve ever met. I did my best helping her with her battle with cancer. She did an incredible job battling and when I say battle, it’s an understatement. She was prescribed chemo and radiation treatments that left her feeling extremely sick everyday. Her suffering broke my heart everyday. I lived with her throughout her treatments and at home hospice care. I feel we battled the cancer together. We have never been to the hospital so many times before! Over 200 trips. In the journey, I also unfortunately witnessed some unbelievable unkind people. They say you never forget how someone made you feel. I had so many frustrations dealing with rude pharmacy technicians, hospital staff, relatives, and so on. I’m genuinely a nice person and dealing with these types of people and being strong for my mother was something! I was a strong for my mom in this battle! To unwind from these days, I simply began writing! At the end of the day or when I had some down time, I would have fun writing about things I love and that’s beauty!

To also unwind, I would go in the kitchen and start making myself facials. I know so much about skin care and creating the right facial for any skin concern and during that time I was going through stress and having some major skin issues! I thought, if this is helping me so greatly, I should pay it forward and help someone else by writing about these facial recipes or beauty products. All this writing really helped me unwind!

I’m grateful I have had the help of my amazing fiance and his support of my passion. I’m also grateful for my amazing new friends met through my love of beauty.

This website went to having only 100 views per month to now 90K views per month! This is something I never expected! THANK YOU!

To show my sincere gratitude I am planning a giveaway in honor of my mom and my 1 year anniversary!

I’m asking you my viewers what type of items would you like to see? Please leave a comment!

Thank you!

  1. Jen your mom would be so proud of you and everything you have done, this place of yours is like an homage to her. I think the way you treat others really shows what a lovely woman she was! Congrats on your one year anniversary girl!

  2. I love your site and can’t think of anything that you have not already covered.
I to took care of my mother before she passed and that was 13 years ago. I to came up against rude people. Took me a long time to figure it out….and it was someone else who cleared it up for me. They told me that people that are rude and self centered like that have no one in their lives to count on and that seeing someone else that care makes them jealous.
Your mom would be and is proud of you.
    Happy Anniversary!

    1. Thank you Lucie. Sorry about your mom too. That would make a lot of sense what you mentioned about the rude people. Thank you so much! And thanks for visiting my site!
