Sonia Kashuk Makeup Brush Review today. I purchased the gold limited edition 10 piece makeup brush set by Sonia Kasuk from Target this weekend. I saw it and HAD to have it because it was so pretty and cheap ($30.00) for ten Sonia Kashuk brushes! If you know how expensive makeup brushes can get, then you know this is a great deal and Sonia Kashuk has great quality! Please enjoy reading my new Sonia Kashuk Makeup Brush Review. This review covers each brush in the set and has great photos of each brush for your viewing pleasure!
Sonia Kashuk Makeup Brush Review – 10 Brush Review Gold Limited Edition
I’m so impressed with the makeup brushes Sonia Kashuk has beautifully designed with great quality, usability, and best of all an amazing affordable price. I needed to buy new makeup brushes thanks to my dog Rosie for chewing the bristles and wooden handles… they were salvageable (I tried using them and the bristles hurt my face!) I wanted to just purchase replacements individually but opted to invest in a new makeup brush set and after doing the math in my favor seeing the new limited gold Sonia Kashuk brushes! After using them everyday, it’s time to write a Sonia Kashuk Makeup Brush Review for each brush.
These Sonia Kashuk brushes are the most beautiful “goddess-like” makeup brushes I’ve ever seen. Holding one in my hand, I felt not worthy! They have a nice medium weight not too heavy not too light and flimsy feeling. They have a gorgeous gold color and the long brush handles are elegantly surrounded by deep vertical grooves and ridges. These handles are generously long and gives the makeup application experience a very glamorous feeling! The base of the bristles are wrapped in a smooth gold and has the Sonia Kashuk logo, giving the handle a beautiful contrast! I thought to myself:
“These are too pretty to use! Wow I’d love to look at these everyday!”
What do you think of these Sonia Kashuk makeup brushes at first glance? Please comment below!!!
Sonia Kashuk Makeup Brush Review – Bristles
The brush bristles are all natural bristles except two (synthetic pointed foundation brush and synthetic concealer brush), and a light ivory color. Three of the brushes: powder, foundation, and fan brush have a light beige dye applied to the tip or base, giving them another unique detail. I prefer the ivory bristles over white or any color bristle because you can still see the product nicely without any guilt o the product leaves any permanent stains. The makeup bristles actually look very luxurious with the added beige accent color. The makeup brush bristles have a good feel that they’re bound tightly and won’t shed off easily, even the synthetic ones!
Sonia Kashuk Makeup Brush Review – The Cost
Yay! Overall I’m happy with the majority of the quality of the brushes for the price I paid, it would make them $3 each! I can’t dare compare them to some makeup brushes I’ve purchased that cost over $30 for one brush! That being said, I’m not going to compare these beauties to the expensive makeup brush brands.
Sonia Kashuk Makeup Brush Review – Powder Brush
Yay! The powder brush is the largest makeup brush in the collection. It’s very soft and works great. You can the quality immediately at first glance! It has nice natural bristles and nicely rounded not too big or small! Very happy with this powder brush.
Sonia Kashuk Makeup Brush Review – Foundation Brush
Nay! The foundation brush has synthetic bristles and it’s rounded. I’m not used to a rounded foundation brush, I prefer a flat brush, but this gives it a touch of luxuriousness I suppose. I feel like I pick up too much product and waste a lot of foundation that’s leftover in the center. Overall it’s a beautiful brush, just not practical for myself.
Sonia Kashuk Makeup Brush Review – Fan Brush
Yay! This duo-fiber fan brush looks very elegant and works beautifully! WOW! The fan brush really makes this lavish luxe collection pop! I think it’s the most beautiful brush in this collection. What do you think? Please Comment below!
Sonia Kashuk Makeup Brush Review – Large Shader Brush
Yay! I was impressed how much eyeshadow this picked up. This brush lightly applies the shadow and looks very well blended at first stroke. The bristles feel stiff yet soft. I’m used to a more softer shader brush, but I like this one.
Sonia Kashuk Makeup Brush Review – Pointed Blending Brush
Yay! This Sonia Kashuk pointed blending brush is very fluffy and blends out eyeshadow very smokey and perfect. I prefer this brush to one of my expensive brushes! Zero complaints! Very soft and does a terrific job giving me “Smokey Eyes.”
Sonia Kashuk Makeup Brush Review – Angled Crease Brush
Nay! I’m going to just be embarrassingly honest with this brush, I never use this type of brush. I actually prefer using a sponge tip brush to do this guy’s job. I have a smaller eye and deeper crease, and I just feel this type of brush just scratches my eyeball. Using this brush, giving it a chance, I will say it could be softer and have the bristles closer together. Moving on…
Sonia Kashuk Makeup Brush Review – Synthetic Concealer Brush
Nay! This was the worst brush out of the ten!!! OMG! Concealing anything on my face was not fun. The tip of this brush feels very rough and stings with each dab onto my skin. It gets the job done but it’s not pleasant! I would have gladly paid the extra money for a natural bristle. Ironically, my dog chewed up my old concealer brush and now unhappy using this new Sonia Kashuk concealer brush, I’ll be searching for a better one. Lol.
Sonia Kashuk Makeup Brush Review – Brow Brush
Yay! Happy with the stiffness of the bristles to get a more natural look. The thickness of the bristles seems to help add realistic looking hairs with each brush stroke and nicely blends it out. I have a video tutorial using this brow brush on my eyebrows. Soft Eyebrows using Eyeshadow Tutorial
Sonia Kashuk Makeup Brush Review – Precision Liner Brush
Yay! This has a nice sturdy tip that’s great for accuracy and getting a good amount of product applied. I would just use this for lips. The long elegant handle makes application of lipsticks feel glamorous! What an artist!
Sonia Kashuk Makeup Brush Review – Brow Groomer / Lash Comb
Yay! It’s pretty basic, but very well made. Nothing to complain about! Very well made, and does the job well! A little surprised the design had a black plastic tip. I figured this should have been golden or the color of the beige tips on the fan brush.
My final thoughts on the 10 piece gold Sonia Kashuk Makeup Brush set Lavish Luxe, the overall “wow” factor of beautiful brushes was exceeded! Sonia Kashuk did an amazing job designing these and she should be proud. Good job girl! I know it wasn’t easy putting all this luxury into a $30 collection. She did pull it off putting quality where it matters! Also, it is a “Holiday” set and it’s special, probably not your “everyday” “go to” makeup brushes for working at the office… unless you’re a goddess like that! (NICE!!!) Sometimes you just have to bring the elegance and pizazz everywhere! I know!
