How to make your hair GROW FASTER – Use the right shampoo! #1

Your shampoo may be to blame what’s making your hair grow slow and not fast! This is a HUGE problem that not many people are educated about. You can make your hair grow faster by not using shampoos that have: sodium lauryl sulfate in them! This ingredient does an amazing job stripping all the oils from your hair and scalp but it also irritates your scalp which slows down your hair growth and weakens your hair strands by drying them out, making them vulnerable to breakage.

If your want to make your hair grow faster, make sure you don’t irritate your scalp with any shampoo that has sodium lauryl sulfate or any sulfates or silicone’s in them for optimum hair growth. You will see a huge difference in faster hair growth and elasticity of your overall hair. The two shampoos that I alternate between using in the shower and that I highly recommend are: L’Oreal Paris EverSleek SulfateFree shampoo, and my WEN Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner. If you must have a rich foamy feel, I suggest you try the L’Oreal Paris EverSleek SulfateFree shampoo because it has a rich lather that the WEN does not have. It really amazes me that simply changing your shampoo to a gentle one is how to make your hair grow faster! Well it is! ๐Ÿ™‚

How to make your hair GROW FASTER – Keep your scalp Moisturized! #2

Let your scalp’s full-time job be hair growth. Right below the surface of your scalp is where your hair follicles thrive and do all sorts of functions. I’m sure you remember human anatomy right? If you keep your scalp healthy and hydrated meaning you’re not over-washing your hair and scalp, your scalp will spend less time overproducing oil in your hair follicle’s oil gland and more time being nourished by the veins and arteries in your scalp that feed the hair bulb! Washing your hair and making sure your scalp isn’t irritated by bacteria and sweat can be hard to do if you’re constantly sweating and shampooing more than 3 times a week! I

f you have an irritated itchy scalp, try my Natural Itchy Scalp Remedy โ€“ 1 Minute Cure! Also be sure to avoid washing your hair more than 3 times a week and your scalp will be able to stop overproducing oil and you’ll actually be able to wash you hair less! You’re basically training your scalp not to overproduce oil because you’re keeping the natural moisture level at a normal state. If you have to wash more than 3 times a week, make sure you’re conditioning your scalp and hair! And please remember to use the right shampoo ๐Ÿ˜‰ Having a healthy scalp will always help you make your hair grow faster!

How to make your hair GROW FASTER – Eat protein and take a Biotin supplement #3

You are what you eat and that expression is true for your hair. You need to eat protein in any form you can get for a healthy body and also beautiful hair. Nourish your body on the inside and it will thank you with beauty on the outside. And one of those gifts is faster growing and healthy hair! Make sure you’re eating protein with every meal as part of a well balanced diet. Biotin plays a key role in supporting the health of skin, hair, nails, nerves, the digestive track, cells and even our metabolism. It’s important to also get your protein because this is what hair is made out of and if you don’t have it, you’re going to lose your hair or start to have weak brittle hair.

The best biotin supplement I take every day is the Nature’s Bounty Hair Skin and Nails gummies. I love taking them in the form of a gummy and my fiance also enjoys taking them ๐Ÿ˜‰ He saw a huge improvement on having faster growing nails and his hair grows fast too! Making sure you’re eating the right foods and adding supplements is an easy and favorite way how to make your hair grow faster method.

How to make your hair GROW FASTER – Massage your scalp #4

The nutrients you ingest have the potential to nourish your entire body through the bloodstream and circulatory system. No matter how strong and healthy your circulatory system is, you should massage you scalp at least once a day using your clean fingertips. This stimulates the scalp and gets nutrients delivered to your follicle’s hair bulb, making your hair grow faster! To really “pump up the jam” and benefit even more faster hair growth, dip your fingertips into a little extra virgin olive oil to deliver moisture that your scalp loves and vitamin E!

Extra virgin olive oil absorbs into the skin and won’t just sit on the surface. Sounds really relaxing huh? This could also be great for your scalp if it’s really dry and irritating too! I love to massage my scalp when I’m watching TV with my fiance.

Yes – you can use the olive oil in your kitchen cupboard on your hair and skin. The olive oil you cook with is the best for skin and hair care.

Don’t have time for a good scalp massage? Go ahead and bend over, touching your toes. That will get blood flow to you scalp! Even try an inversion table to benefit your whole body!

Does dying your hair make it grow faster?

I hear this all the time… The truth is that dying your hair or bleaching it a noticeably different color will only make the new hair growth stand out. Your new hair growth will just become more noticeable – that’s all.

This brings up a hair growth myth I need to debunk. No – dying your hair will not make it grow faster.

  1. Love these tips, I have short hair and have always wanted long hair, can’t wait to try these out ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Hey love your articles, this one and the bleached damaged hair I’m going to try. Do you have any tips for dying over bleached hair? I want to get my natural chocolate colour back, but not sure what colour it will go if i apply straight onto blonde. Thankyou

    1. Hi Beth!
Knowing that you love my articles makes my day! How to dye bleached hair, I would make sure it’s conditioned deeply and I would try an all natural henna dye. Henna will protect your bleached hair by surrounding it with a similar hair structure you had before you bleached it! Do a little research to find a good one that won’t have any ammonia in it. There’s some that say all natural but contain the same as a regular box of hair dye! Read the ingredients! Henna is also big in India, it helps women grow their hair our super long because it protects it adding strength around the whole hair length! Great for people who want a natural hair dye and great for people with bleached hair! Good luck!

      1. Hi Jen,
When I was in the eighth grade I made the terrible mistake of letting my friend cut, thin, and layer my hair. Every since then my hair has had a lot of trouble growing. My junior my mom to me to get my hair fixed, and my hair just stopped growing entirely. So, when I found this website of yours, I thought I’d give it a try. Except, I can’t afford wen, and walmart here didn’t have in stock the L’Oreal Paris shampoo you recommended. But I got to looking at the options there, and I bought the L’Oreal Paris EverCurl Sulfate-Free Curl Care System, and since my hair massivly curly, I thought getting this wouldn’t be too bad.
But my question for you is, would the L’Oreal Paris shampoo that you recommended be better for my hair to grow?

        1. Hi Dani! You made a good choice for the Lโ€™Oreal Paris EverCurl Sulfate-Free Curl Care System! Woot woot! Because this is a sulfate-free shampoo line, it’s going to do wonders for your scalp health and hair growth! Only wash your hair 3 times a week tops! I try to only wash mine twice a week. I love the put olive oil in my hair and massage my scalp with to make sure my hair stays strong and attached to my scalp! I wish you lots of luck!

  3. I will try this as soon as I bought a bottle of castor oil! ๐Ÿ™‚
I know that these tips are made for women but me as a very young, rather feminine man (18) want long, feminine hair as well ๐Ÿ˜‰ So I will give it a try!

  4. I am always working on something to help my hair! Ever since I got pregnant and had my little guy 8 years ago I have had trouble with it – I keep up with my vitamins now and no sulfates, but I never thought about keeping my scalp moisturized…my scalp is sooooooooooo dry! I may start doing overnight hair masks at least once a week. I used a really nice one from Old Wives Tail the other day, my hair still smells like heaven! Anyways GREAT tips!

    1. Hi Heather,
Yes I don’t shampoo my hair everyday to help keep my scalp from drying out. I love applying a little olive oil to my scalp 15 minutes before a shower to get the moisture deeply absorbed before I wash. I love a good hair masque. I’ll look up the Old Wives Tail. Thanks,
      Jen

  5. hi jen I left a comment yesterday but I don’t think you received it. so basically I bleached my hair a month ago and it is curly but very dry how can I get it soft again and get it to grow faster without cutting it. I use coconut oil but is that any good thanks

    1. six months and my hair grew out fast Emma.Normally, hair only grows 1/2 inch a month, this more than doubled the speed of my hair growth.

      1. Hi Jen , thanks so much for reply! That’s amazing! I can’t wait for my blonde to grow out , it’s so damaged and I can’t handle the smell of getting hair coloured or bleached anymore and it makes me feel so sick! Are you blonde again now or did you completely grow it out? Thanks so much

  6. Hi amazed your hair grew that fast in five months. Mine has grown about 2 inches in 6 months I have dyed it 6 times in 6 months. Hairdresser cut all my hair off.

    1. Sorry ti hear your hairdresser cut you hair. It’s also best not to dye your hair so often. Take care I hope it grows back fast.

  7. I have 45″ of hair all virgin. I’ve grown this from pixie in 5 years. I’d say if you want long HEALTHY hair don’t dye or bleach the worst possible thing for hair. Growing long hair isn’t about how quick you can grow it, its about how long you can retain the monthly growth!
You can take all the supplements in the world, massage to your hears content but if your hair is snapping due to damage you won’t get any longer only shorter.
Just saying and each to their own but if you was to grow all your hair to its natural colour you’d notice not just. a better quality of hair but faster growing hair! I’d rather see short healthy hair than long damaged hair.

  8. Hello! When you do scalp massage everyday, do you use the mixture with olive oil, eucalyptus, and peppermint? Or do you just use olive oil? Thanks so much! I just bought all the stuff I just need some clarification, thank you ๐Ÿ˜‰

  9. Does massaging the hair with the olive oil make it oily and greasy? What amount and how often do you recommend using it? My hair is oily already, so I don’t want to add to it.

    1. Olive oil is oil, so it would make your hair feel oily when the oil is in your hair. Use as much as you need to saturate your hair. This is used as a deep conditioner or hair mask. You can shampoo it out. If your hair is still oily you can wash it again.
      Good luck!
      Jen

  10. Hiya,

I just watched your youtube video and watched your blog, interesting facts. However, I looked at your picture with your hair…it looks like you have hair extentions in? I don’t mean to be rude but come on? The hair is not even cut in. I just don’t think it is fair on readers and it could be flase advertisement.

    1. Hi Tasha,
My hair is 100% my own real hair. I would never get extensions. My video and post show my hair growth journey growing out my bleached hair. It would be impossible to even accuse me of extensions because my hair has grown out dark with my bleached hair still attached on the bottom ends. I bleached and trimmed my hair by myself. It may not be to your liking however I would never lie about my hair. I will update my photos for you. People are fascinated with my long hair so I will not take it personally. Thank you for helping me improve my content. Perhaps I can show a video of my hair parted and showing the growth up close.

  11. I have struggled with my hair for a long time now. I am quickly approaching my 30s and I have bad hair quality. Recently, I have also noticed that my hair has stopped growing as it used to. A few years ago I went to the salon on a monthly basis. Now, it takes me almost two months before I even need to cut my hair! I am desperate and I really need help right now. Hair is one of the most important parts of a woman and I don’t want to give up on this one. I went to the doctors but they didn’t found anything wrong with me. The exams I took showed that I am healthy and there’s no reason for this to even happen to me. Please, I really need hair advice urgently!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. Hi Cristina,
It’s important to protect your hair more than ever in your 30’s. Hair starts to get dryer and your hair becomes vulnerable to breakage. I would make sure you’re deeply conditioning your hair length. Second, switch to a sulfate free shampoo so you don’t dry out your scalp.
Only wash twice a week tops.
      Jen

  12. But… you’re wearing (bad) hair extensions???? What a load of tosh. You shouldn’t be going around misleading young girls like this.

    1. My hair is 100% real growing out from my scalp. I enjoy proving people wrong letting them touch my scalp and run their fingers through my hair. ๐Ÿ™‚
Especially when I’m standing in line, people will ask me if my hair is real since it’s so long. I kindly let them know it’s real and I will even let them feel it. I allow them to part my hair and see for theirselves. Then I give them a business card with my website on it so they can learn tips for making their hair grow faster and keep it strong.
      Thanks for visiting.
      Jen

  13. Prove to them that your hair is real. Firstly there is nothing fascinating about long hair. I am indian. Hair grows too long lengths. I believe it is your real hair.

    1. Hi Anya,
Long Indian hair is stunning. I can see why you’re probably bored of long hair, because Long indian hair it’s so popular. Thanks for visiting my site.
